There may be occassion where The Soldiers’ Charity is referred in a Will as The Army Benevolent Fund.

By resolution of the Board of Trustees dated 19 November 2009, the Army Benevolent Fund changed its name to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity under its continuing Registered Charity Number 211645. The Charity was then incorporated on 2 March 2012 and was registered with the Charity Commission for England & Wales on 14 March 2012 as Charity No. 1146420. All of the assets and liabilities of the unincorporated charity were transferred to the newly incorporated charity, with the exception of cash of £39,814 which was transferred once the winding up of the Defined Benefits Pension Scheme was completed. The Charity is also registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (Scottish Charity No SCO39189).
